Rebirth I [Chapter 1]

Pain… The only thing I could feel was pain. I felt like I was being squeezed through a very tight tube. Where the fuck was I? I tried to recall the last thing I remember… Yeah, I can’t remember what I was doing before whatever happened, happened to me. Then all of a sudden, the pressure I was feeling increased and I opened my mouth to scream, but something gooey entered my mouth.
Though just as I was about to start coughing, I found myself out of the dark place… I was so lost in the pain that I never noticed that it was completely dark around me. I tried to spit out the contents of my mouth, but I failed to do so… For whatever reason, I wasn’t able to muster enough power to spit out the contents, so they simply trickled out of my mouth. I would have been grossed out, but I was way too disoriented to care.
Now that I think of it, I didn’t feel any taste from the gooey stuff… Not that I wanted to, in the first place and as a matter of fact, why can’t I see anything? Everything is a blur except for a shadowy figure standing me… The figure was saying something, so I decided to pay attention to it, just so I could glean some information, but no matter what I tried, anything the person was saying sounded kind of gibberish to me.
Though I was able to deduce that the figure standing over me was a woman, thanks to her voice… Then all of a sudden, I felt a sharp pain in my butt along with a stinging sensation. It felt like someone slapped me on my butt and the pain was so intense that I started to scream…
Am I hallucinating? Did someone drug me when I wasn’t looking? Though why the hell would anyone want to drug me? I am nobody important, nor do I have any inheritance people would kill for… I am a simple 9-5 worker, who was trying to do his best to live his life… With those thoughts in my mind, I started to fall asleep as I started to feel extremely tired. Maybe, all of this was just a simple nightmare and when I wake up, I will be back in my apartment.
At least, I hope that’s the case…
~~Timeskip~~ (Three Years)
As it turned out… That wasn’t the case. I wasn’t hallucinating, nor was I having a nightmare. It turns out, I was somehow transported into a completely different world. A fictional world. It took me almost four days to realize that after I was born in this world. After a baby is born their vision should remain blurry for a week or two, but my vision became crystal clear from the fourth day. At first, I was baffled at this development, but my bafflement didn’t last long as I had other important things to worry about.
When a man wearing a Hitaiate entered the nursery to check the babies, and that is when I lost it. I immediately started to bawl and I bawled like a baby, and I am not ashamed of it. Anybody in my place would have done the same even if they would deny it. After all, I was somehow transported into a grim-dark world filled with people who could reshape the landscape with a few hand signs, fuck that!
Then there was the fact that the man wasn’t wearing a Konoha Hitaiate, which meant I wasn’t in Konoha. Though thankfully, the man wasn’t wearing an Oto Hitaiate… If that would have been the case, then I would have killed myself and saved Pedomaru the trouble. Still, I knew I was in quite a bit of trouble since the man was wearing a Kumo Hitaiate and Kumo was never explored in the canon.
Almost the whole canon revolved around Konohagakure, which meant I had to fly in blind it since I was clearly not in Konoha…
Then I almost had another seizure when I discovered the timeline I was born in… Why couldn’t I be born in the Naruto timeline, at least I would have known everything even though I wasn’t born in Konoha, but no!! I was born before the start of the Second Shinobi War and that sucks. Now, I wasn’t even sure how many years later Naruto was going to be born. Yes, I watched Naruto, but I wasn’t a fanatic by any means, so I never researched the Timeline.
Now that I think of it, I should have looked it up, just in case someday I got reincarnated in the Naruto World… Damn everything to hell!! All of my canon knowledge was completely useless and worse, I didn’t get a cheat that would help me survive in this perilous world. Now that I think of it, it was kind of sad… Until three years ago, I was living a boring life with a 9-5 job, and at that time, I craved some excitement, but now that I am reborn in a fictional world, I want to have my old and boring life back.
“Raijin!” Someone called me out and I knew who it was. It was the matron of the orphanage.
“Coming!” I answered before I started to head back inside the orphanage with the basket of carrots in my hands. Unlike Konoha, Kumo was a land of mountains and all the buildings were built around the mountains. Even our orphanage was built around an average-sized mountain, but I have to give the people of Kumo some credit. They have really adapted to the mountain lifestyle. Even though we didn’t have flat lands, the people of Kumo have learned to farm on the mountain surface.
That was the thing with humans, they knew how to adapt… At least, I no longer feared heights, which I did in my last life. I arrived inside the orphanage and placed the basket on the kitchen table. “I brought the carrots” I chirped and the matron lovingly ruffled my hair.
“Good” The woman smiled at me before handing me a knife. “Now, help me with the vegetables” The middle-aged woman pointed at the pile of vegetables.
Handing over a sharp knife to a three year old child in my old world was considered bad parenting, but in this world, it was pretty normal. If a child can’t even handle a knife and cut vegetables properly then how were they supposed to handle a kunai and slit the throat of their enemies? In a twisted sort of way, it made sense and I have also realized that the children in this world were much different from the children of my old world.
In this world, children were much more stronger and durable… Maybe, it had something to do with Chakra flowing through our bodies. That was probably why I could properly see only after four days I was born.
“I am done” After a few minutes, I was finally done chopping vegetables. The matron inspected the vegetables before nodding her head in satisfaction.
“You can handle a knife pretty well. Let’s see how well you handle a kunai” The woman hummed thoughtfully before pulling out a kunai from her knife pouch. She stared at the kunai for a couple of seconds before nodding her head. “This will do” The woman nodded before extending the kunai toward me. I hesitantly grabbed the handle of the kunai, which was wrapped around with a white cloth, but she didn’t let go.
“Now, I want you to be responsible with this… So, you better not lose it or stab someone with it” The woman warned me with a glare and I felt a chill run down my spine. So, I quickly nodded my head in understanding and she finally let go and the soft smile returned to her face. “Good. Now, peel the carrots and cut them into fine pieces. Be careful, a kunai is much sharper than a kitchen knife” The woman warned playfully as she started to stare at me hopefully.
“Thank you, N nee-san” I thanked the matron before grabbing a carrot from the basket. I started to peel the carrot and realized that the kunai was really sharper than the kitchen knife… I had no idea how that was possible, but it is what it is. From what I have been able to deduce in the last three years, N’s mission was to groom orphan children into loyal soldiers of Kumogakure and at the same time, sort out the most talented from the rest of the riff-raff.
While peeling the carrots with a kunai wasn’t that hard, cutting them into fine pieces was quite an impossible task for me. “Here, let me show you how to use a kunai to cut vegetables” N stepped forward and pulled out another kunai from her hip pouch. Then she grabbed another carrot from the basket and started to chop it into fine pieces after peeling it. “This is how you do it” N said after she was done chopping the carrot.
I tried to mimic her form and actions, but it was a useless endeavour… N had years of training to perfect her kunai handling skills and this was the first time I was using a kunai. “You are bad, but you will learn” N commented drily as stared at the carrot I chopped. “Watch and learn” N said before she started to work on the rest of the carrots and only after a couple of minutes, she was done.
“You need to learn how to handle a kunai, otherwise you might fumble at the wrong time and the enemy might bury his kunai in your chest” N poked my chest with her kunai and she was so fast that I didn’t even get the time to blink.
I felt cold sweat run down my back as I gulped loudly. Satisfied with my reaction, she pulled back the kunai and smiled at me like a caring mother. “Go and wash yourself. The food will be ready in an hour” N said before she ruffled my hair, and as I left, I could still recall the feeling of having a kunai pointed at my heart…

So, what do you guys think about the first Chapter? The name of this Fanfic is yet to be decided but for the time being I have decided to use Extreme Affinity. Please tell me what do you think and if you have any suggestions for the title please mention them...

It’s a great start, can’t wait for more. Definitely already hooked. As you write more you will probably find a title fitting the direction the FF will take our subscribers will. Couple spelling mistakes or words that don’t fit there riddled in over the place tho.
