In memoriam’s pacing is very fast for a book of that length! I loved it (especially the epistolary parts). The campus aspect is really to set up the nature of the boys before they go off to war rather than any actual academia which I think works rlly well thematically

summer sons is so good too, it ramps up slowly but it's got the perfect Southern Gothic blend of humid and creepy

I actually really liked Summer Sons. There were some critiques but the VIBES were excellent and I’m not a horror reader at all.
