You're correct! this is sloppy writing. I needed her to head back to the room and thought, well, papers. I didn't show which ones Alamand took and need to strongly establish that he only grabbed a specific one for the final draft, and also that she doesn't really trust him to give her what she wants.

She knows Alamand has the records of her and her own crimes that include a note about de Kird but I think she's looking for de Kird's actual file so she has more info (info that she's in control of instead of Alamand).
