Hey try using a light coat of scotchguard water shield spray on the top! It will act like a seal of sorts without messing with the texture.

This is an absolutely genius move. I would NEVER have thought to airbrush a rug! I'm lucky enough to have an antique persian rug that I inherited but I will definitely be trying this technique out on my next rug.
