🕑 Added 2024-02-20 04:08:16 +0000 UTCI'm starting on part 11. I only got a couple of pages done. But it will be the fanaly if it's the last thing I do. I've really enjoyed this story, but it's been a lot. Maybe I'll come back in time, IDK.
“Only 22 pounds this month.” Nurse Z said, making a note in her system. “Been cutting back?”
“No,” Amara stepped off and reached for her blows, “Just been busy.” She couldn’t help but feel a little defensive, “I’m still almost there-hundred pounds.”
Nurse Z looked up and some of her professional distance was gone. Her expression softened and said, “You’re still doing fine. A lot of people level out in their gain after a while.” Then tapping on her screen some more, she said, “It’s probably for the best anyway. Don’t want you getting immobile too soon.” Then looked up grinning.
The idea excited Amara more than she thought it would. The notion of getting so fat she couldn’t walk anymore had been something that needled in the back of her mind, but she hadn’t let herself think about it. She just enjoyed the increasing softness of her body and pushed the consequences aside. The idea of it though left her a little shaky. She didn’t quip back what she was thinking. The nurse hadn’t slowed down any. If anything, she seemed to have sped up her own fain. The woman’s gate had changed dramatically from her gain and she shifted from side to side when walking now. Amara wondered if her husband had grown to enjoy the process and was helping out. She had really blown up lately.
Once fully dressed, the two walked out of the back and Amara was stopped in her tracks when the door was opened, “SURPRISE!!!!”
“What?” Amara looked at the office transformed in the 15 minutes she had been in the back. A banner said, “Happy Birthday!!!” And a full sheet cake sat on Anna’s cart that said “Happy Birthday Amara!!” With red and pink roses in clusters around the edge and around the writing.
“Oh, guys,” Amara said with her hands to her mouth. She saw Alexandrea there next to the temp secretary, “You’re here too?!”
Alexandrea beamed, “You didn’t think I’d miss your birthday party, did you?”
The two hugged tightly even though they had hung out the night before like usual. “Where’s Cora?”
“In daycare, I’ll check in to feed her as needed.” Alexandrea gave an extra squeeze. “Blow out the candles so we can eat it.”
Amara did as told with Dave taking pictures and the rest laughing and clapping.
“Let's get this to the break room so we can have some,” Dave said.
Amy walked the cart to the breakroom where everyone took their usual places and Amy cut generous slices out for everyone. The largest slice with the most flowers went to Amara. Carson took her slice and walked back to the receptionist area after giving Amara a warm hug. It was only then that Amara realized how big she had gotten lately. Carson had a notable waddle to her walk as well. She was no longer a very bottom-heavy chubby girl, her thighs rubbed both sides of the doorway as she walked through and turning sideways didn’t help. Her round belly and bubble butt jutted out both ways as well. Sitting behind the receptionist's desk hid her true size given she carried so much of it in her lower half.
“Eat up, we have presents for you,” Steve said already having shoveled half his cake in.
Amara took a large bite of her cake with a giant icing flower and smiled. The chocolate of the cake was rich and there was a hint of peppermint in the icing she liked. “So good. Dave sat next to her and ate his own slice seeming to try and match her quantity though he didn’t have the capacity for it yet. Amara smiled at the yet. It had only been a couple of weeks for him, but she could tell he had the appetite for the job. They had gone out once on a date but had kept things casual. He had taken her to a slasher film at a theater in town and went out for dinner at a late-night diner afterward.
She had to admit they talked easily, and she did like him a lot. He told her a little about himself, asking questions about her as well. When she became pensive about questions relating to her family he didn’t push. He could deduce enough from how people treated her.
“So, are we just doing our break early or something?” Amara asked after Anna pushed a second slice onto her and others went for seconds.
“Work can hold until tomorrow,” Dave said. “You only turn 25 once.”

I have really been enjoying it, too! It is a longer one, so I definitely get running out of steam a bit with it.
