2nd idea based on the general theme but maybe character is paralyzed due to bullies who got away with it cause of lack of evidence and then having well connected rich parents and uses VR to regularly interact with her friend/crush/boyfriend who might be also often targeted by them as well and maybe due a major glitch with the VR device and a advanced AI she gains various abilities for example gets back at the bullies by brainwashing/possessing them through their VR devices maybe also in part due the abilities of the AI developed a VR device that can be used to affect the body such cause stimulation to cause physical changes in the body such as changes to appearance and in her case cures her paralysis or such

sad though also makes some sense to use AI for stuff like that for example physically disabled people being able to experience walking which depending on the condition could be used for part of their therapy
