Weekly Update - May 30th

The first part of the week was focused on getting Chapter 8 out to the Best Friend tier of course. I hope those on the tier have had a chance to play through it. Chapter 8, took a lot out of me in terms of effort, since then I have to admit to taking a little time to breathe. That's not to say I've been totally inactive, I have a queue of renders for the render rig and it's been churning them out over the past few days.
Chapter 8 is available here of course on the Best Friend tier or you can buy the post with the downloads linked. Steam has also been updated. And it's also available to purchase on Itch.
That brings me to chapter 9. Chapter 9 will be the last major chapter in the story, 10 and 11 are planned to be small iterations. This chapter signifies the beginning of the end of the story. It's a hugely important part and I really need to nail it. I will be taking my time to get it right, I hope you understand that. The other fly in the ointment is that during the development process I will be going through those changes in my personal life that I've talked about before which will impact my ability to work in the short term.
So chapter 9 sees the pair return to Finch Green for year two and start living with their close friends in a big house in the town. This is kind of standard fare for UK students, unlike over in the US, dorm rooms are not available to students beyond year 1, there's no concept of frats or sororities either. So students tend to band together and rent out a house for the year to split the cost.
So to timelines moving forward. Here is my plan right now. Chapter 9 will be finished hopefully within the next few of months, if there is an opportunity to do a half chapter release that makes sense I will take that to reduce the wait time. Chapters 10 and 11 will follow on from that. I think a good target for completion is around the autumn time here in the northern hemisphere. I plan to make an announcement for my next project between chapters 9 and 10. I will also release a "clean up" update post completion of Chapter 11, that will look at adding a little polish here and there. In conjunction to that I'll be pivoting back to Great Hire to finish that off and start building the next project. It'll be a little while before I will be able to get something playable out, it won't be delivered in the same chapter by chapter method I used for Best Friends, it's going to be a lot more interactive than the linear story BF is. I'm also cognizant of the need to recharge my batteries for fear of burn out. Closer to the end of BF development I will give you all a better idea of expected content releases to give you as much information as possible to make amendments in your support.

LOL... when the update pops up... there is a little piece of text that says "Show more". I hit that and all I got was... more text. No panty shot... just text. I mean, honestly, when someone asks me to "show more", I adjust at least one piece of clothing. Sorry... that was funny to me. Anyone else? Bueller? Bueller? Ok. Chapter 8 was fabulous... looking forward to seeing the plot move forward for the final run of chapters. In your own time, of course. A burn out is only cool when you intentionally put your foot to the floor to make those tires squeal... and make smoke. ~Linni
