I've been playing acoustic guitar since the time I could read, so it's a place that feels like home to me. it's always been my therapy, my outlet, and something really personal to me.
by the time I got to college age, I realised that I have a genetic joint hypermobility that meant I could no longer play every day without serious pain in my hands...that was hard. really hard. I stopped playing for a long time.
but recently I've been trying to pick it up again and just play a little every now and then, just for the craic, and oh it feels soo good.
I'm rusty, but the feeling of bliss still rises in me when I feel the ridges of the steel strings under my fingers. the hollow wood vibrating against my body. the hum of harmonies and syncopation that pour out of me like a mother tongue.
it's good for the soul to feel those things again, even just for a moment đđ
