I picked up bouldering on my Birthday in March, after visiting a gym local to me on my birthday with my spouse. I caught the bug for this sport immediately upon touching the wall.
I have always enjoyed getting up a tree, on a roof top, or a mountain, and am a lifelong ski enthusiast. So I felt immediately at home in this environment.
I've been going to the gym a few times a week since. And today after back to back days Thursday and Friday last week; and then, tilling the garden at my in-laws on Saturday. Followed that up with 3 hours of climbing Monday, and another 2 and a half today.
I completed my first indoor V5 (per the route setters) graded boulder problem today! The folks at my gym tell me this is a pretty fast progression for less than 90 days of experience under my belt. Maybe it is or isn't, you can be the judge of that.
I'm just feeling very fulfilled by this activity. And the side benefits it has on the aesthetics of my arms, and the control I feel over my body.
