🕑 Added 2022-09-19 02:01:00 +0000 UTC my journey with intimacy i have spent the last couple of months observing love and where it shows up in my body and when i find love present within me vs when i do not. and taking in the reality that love takes time to develop - by understanding someone better i can better decide how close one will be to my heart over letting anyone and anything in. so this entire learning process has been in the makes for a while now. it feels like I've JUST started observing love and what it means to me. through this observational phase in my life - i have found consistencies in when i feel love: I feel really close to those who remind me of my family - creative, nerdy, intense, humble, and distant. I feel close to those who are curious about others, themselves, and their surroundings. I feel close to those who treat others with respect - eye contact, hellos and goodbyes, hugs, looks from across the room. body language is important here and I've been noticing it more and more with people. you can really tell when someone is lying and when someone is telling the truth :) similarly, I feel close to good people - people who treat others, animals, objects, and things well, regardless of benefit involved. I feel close to those who let others see how passionate they are about something - passion is attractive AND passion is reassuring, it lets me be passionate as well. if those passions align with mine, i end up feeling even closer. I feel close to those who are open and warm - when it’s easy to be myself around them because they are open and receptive to me. I feel close to those who make me belly laugh. and i feel close to those who take the time to understand me. and the more consistently i feel these feelings - the greater that feeling in my chest grows. what makes you feel close to others? what inspires you to love others?
