Open Thread: What's on your mind/what do you want to see me cover?

Hey Patrons,January is historically a lull when it comes to movies and despite the success of M3GAN and PLANE, this year is not really that different. (That said: Do check out my coverage of The Last Of Us over on Decoding TV)I wanted to create a thread just so you can make any requests for what you want me to cover, or ask me any questions you might have these days. I'm happy to address them in a Patreon post or over at my free newsletter, Decoding Everything. Thanks, as always, for your sup...

The Case Against 'Avatar: The Way Of Water'

Avatar: The Way of Water is the most financially successful movie of any film that was released in 2022. Itcurrently has a 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, is widely beloved, and continues to do big business week after week in theaters. James Cameron has already said the film's performance means he's going to have the support he needs to make who-knows-how-many sequels. If you follow my work, you probably are aware that I'm not a big fan of the film. Beyond the fact that it's an unengaging...
