Dark Reflections: Chaos Page 95 - Screaming Tails Off ...
Art by Studio Katsumi
An Old New Situation
Art by Studio KatsumiLettering and story by Scott T. HickenWebsite version as displayed above and NSFW (Not Safe For Work) version attached as a downloadable file.Up on the website on midnight Monday the 23rd of August 2021 and about three hours earlier for people following Exiern on Patreon but not signed up to one of the tiers.(Sorry about any repeat notifications and deleted post messages if you encountered them, I fumbled the original posting of the page somewhat. Hopefully that's all no...
Blog 5: A Brief History of Exiern: Dark Reflections (Part 2)
OK, so having set a bit of the scene with Blog 4, here's a quick summary of how we got to where we are with Dark Reflections (possibly something we'll revisit in greater detail in future but for now, here's some of the key points at least).I learned about Exiern in August 2015, I believe which was just before Scott posted the first new page of Dark Reflections later that same month with Zen as the author and A+A illustrating it.What really appealed to me about Dark Reflections was th...
Blog 4: A Brief History of Exiern: Dark Reflections (Part 1)
We're expanding on the previous post about how to keep the different Exiern universes straight in your head starting with Exiern: Dark Reflections. I know not everyone cares about this side of Exiern (as evidenced by some feedback which said about it words to the effect that "I don't care about Dark Reflections."). However for those who do at all, read on!There's a couple of posts worth looking at here and here by Drowemos from back in 2010. We have to use the archive.org ver...

Blog 3: Your quick guide to the Exiern universes.
I'm going to do a longer post about this later but in order to try and clear up any potential confusion, here's a quick guide to the Exiern multiverse. The short version is (to keep it simple), think of Exiern as the MCU and Dark Reflections as What If ... ? (I know, I know - thinking very highly of ourselves - again.)As there's two Dark Reflections, think of it as two What If ... ? ...s (I think Marvel comics also did that sort of thing with their What If ...? premises).Exiern (aka E...
Dark Reflections: Chaos Page 93 - Tie Die
Art by Studio Katsumi (thanks for all the hard work in getting us back on schedule!)
We Steal Lana's Shorts!
In the never-ending dash for more cash to keep Exiern running, we're not above stealing ideas from other more financially successful webcomics left, right and centre (though is it really stealing if you ask permission first? We'll leave that question to the philosophers).Anyway, as a new feature ultimately destined for the $5 tier (we said we're always thinking about each of the tiers and what to do for them!), in what I guess technically counts as Exiern's first crossover with t...
What Else Would It Be?
Hot of the press from Studio Katsumi (art) and then Scott (story and lettering)!Page will be up on the website at midnight on Monday US East Coast time and we will make up that lost week as soon as we can, please watch the space below each subsequent update until we can announce when we can do so!
Blog 2: First You Need Artists - Second You Need to Pay Them
The TL;DR version of this post is that Exiern needs artists to make it and that costs money. For a long time now, Exiern has cost more to make than it earns. At the moment, the costs and income almost balance but that's due to some temporary and unusual circumstances that won't last, so we're using that time and (relative) savings to make things we hope will boost income in future. More on that soon! The ultimate goal is to have Exiern be able to pay for itself, especially if I have to...
Dark Reflections: Chaos Page 92 - Leaving From a Jet Plane
Just got this hot off the press! Not the first time we've seen something as blatant as this in (one of) the Exiern universes! Lots of things making their way across from somewhere else ... somehow. The significance of all this to be revealed one day, I'm sure! Will need to wait until I get home to be able to post this on the website, so it'll be a Patreon exclusive for a few hours.Art by Studio Katsumi
Blog 1: The Webcomic on the Edge of (a) Forever (Hiatus)
I've been meaning to do this for a while as threatened but as usual, took a while to get around to it. I'm hoping to follow this post up with a few more soon about the inner workings, behind the scenes and history of Exiern.First things first, unexpected interruptions have knocked the update schedule out of alignment and at this point, I'm thinking we'll just make the next page update next Monday the 9th of August 2021 and make up the deficit as soon as we can with a two updates ...
Dark Reflections: Chaos Page 91 - The Ladies are Tramps Just in Case You've Forgotten
... and here's the completed page! I'll put it up on the main site shortly but please enjoy the ten or so minutes of Patreon exclusivity! We'll do our best to get Dark Reflections: Chaos back to its scheduled Wednesday update day as soon as possible.Art by Studio Katsumi (and thank you for working so hard to get this out this week!)
Dark Reflections: Chaos Page 91 - The Ladies are Tramps Just in Case You've Forgotten (draft)
Also just in case you've forgotten, Dark Reflections is the home of the edgier Exiern content (so, so edgy). We'll try to get both Exiern and Dark Reflections: Chaos back onto their scheduled days as quickly as possible, just thought we could at least in part make up for the delay by getting this draft out (excellent work as always in very short time by our artist Studio Katsumi) that gets page across more or less.
87% WORTH SAVING
Hot off the press from Scott with the lettering after Studio Katsumi worked hard to complete the art!I received it in my email at 4:37 am my time.I was not awake at 4:37 am!Please enjoy your 50 minute advanced Patreon preview!
Tuesday 27th of July 2021 update.
This week's (hopefully!) page has reached the draft stage so hopefully the completed page will still make it in time for this week and we'll also hopefully be back on weekly Monday updates as soon as possible! More news as soon as we have it!
As forewarned ... no new page this Monday.
We hoped to avoid this but due to the indirect knock-on effects of the pandemic sweeping the globe, this week's page for Exiern (Monday) and Dark Reflections: Chaos aren't going to make their scheduled publication days. The next Neese page has also been swept up in this situation as well. We'll do our best to get them both posted this week but if worst comes to worst, we may just have to take a hit for the week and do our best to come back next week. We've been doing pretty well th...
Dark Reflections: Chaos Page 90 - Scream Queens
Hot of the press again (just received!).Art by Studio Katsumi
There will unfortunately be a delay for a while.
Some things have come up on the production end, so the Dark Reflections: Chaos page which is in progress will be delayed from its usual publication date and there is likely to be a bit of a knock on effect for other upcoming Exiern pages. We'll do our best to get back on track and make sure there's no net loss of published pages by a given date in the long run but we can't say yet when and for how long the delays are going to be and how long it'll be before things are back on sche...
20th of July 2021 Update
Just a quick message to everyone to keep you all up to date with what's happening.Various global events (Covid-19 outbreak in Sydney leading to lockdown being just one) have kept us treading water with the main updates (Exiern and Dark Reflections) this month and not much else outside of it this month, unfortunately. The biggest impact of that for the $10 tier was an idea or two I've had for physical rewards which have to be pushed back because I can't get out to get them made (essent...

The Once and Future Queen
Going by the previous page, stands to reason that we also have this one! Also, following the logic from the last page, does this mean we see more of the queen in her future and even the current present day of the story coming up?Only time (and Scott!) will tell ...People following on Patreon will see this about three hours before the public website and the page is scheduled to publish there at midnight on Thursday the 1st of July 2021.Art by Studio Katsumi (of course!)
