Merry Christmas! Here's an 80 megapixel composite of the moon captured a couple weeks ago (and the raw image for comparison)
Ah, the magic of editing. This is a composite image, as the original photo was taken during the day, and the washed-out daytime moon was replaced with a moon captured the previous night ( and the size increased for dramatic effect. Check out the original photo here:
The Desert Rose- A vibrant look at the rosette nebula. My first attempt at this object with a color camera.
This is an emission nebula, which burns predominantly red. Here's a more accurate image color-wise:However, with precision color balancing, other colors become evident in the nebula. For example, there is a blue cast in the middle from the starlight in the middle scattering the reflected light, completely undetectable with the naked eye. These colors become evident with the right processing techniques.You know me, always trying to find the hidden color of everything :)Just for fun, here'...
