The Spooktober Jam has officially begun, which means ONE month to complete the visual novel for the contest. These are the (cropped) sprites I finished today! 🖤Why does Tomiko have two hairstyles? You'll have to play the game to find out. 😈

I'm feeling torn about her hairstyle, the first one is very 70's shoujo, the middle is more of a compromise as an homage to the OG Christine. (And also the bow is a little nod to the comic I made that inspired this, based on a dream where she was a catgirl...)
Learning to animate in Ren'py!
I'm not sure how to embed videos, so I have attached it for your viewing pleasure. These animations took me hours and hours of frustration and coding, but I'm quite happy with the results so far!

So, while putting together the concept and art for "Heartsong", I decided it would be a good idea to cut my teeth on a smaller-scale project first to really get a feel for making visual novels before I commit to a much larger endeavor.Hence, this new project was born! Today I touched up the modular Riot sprite and started a spreadsheet of expressions and names so that when we start scripting, it's easy to know what face is called for when in the coding.😈
