Prelude to PRIMAL.
I believe PRIMAL had been percolating in Genndy Tartakovsky’s head for quite a while (although possibly not as long as UNICORN had been boiling up, which I believe goes back to at least 2010). I started working on Primal around 2015, but possibly earlier than that. Anyhow, this is some visual development I did for the show, based very much on Genndy’s sketches. You can see, the original intent for the look for the show was much more cartoon based. Enjoy!
