Completed Loxodon!
Will be released in January!This is the first model I recorded my sculpting process. It is full of so many goofs and mistakes. Should be fun to watch! The feet especially were goofy to do. They looked like little robot feet for most of the process.Really digging this metal matcap for renders.

Get your cylinders, spheres and cubes going before you dive into detail work. This will help you nail the general form. Details are best when they accentuate the general form! So naturally you should established that first.My co-artist and I both like using the clay build-up brush with alpha 28 when defining shapes after placing primitives.

Loxodon WIP - Sculpting Tip
Not sure why this render came out so dark. Anyway. Subdivision Sculpting TipWhen blocking out the shapes for clothes I like to work in a low subdivision level. If you aren't familiar with what that means, I'm talking about working with as few polygons as possible. This is because it is easier to move around! It doesn't look as nice seeing all the polygons, but it definitely makes my workflow faster.

When sculpting miniatures it is important to bulk up your details. For example, the wrinkles in the cloth around his neck may seem a bit silly, but this will ensure that they show up on a print.I use dam standard and alt+dam standard all the time to bulk up my details. I also recommend masking the area to keep the details clean!

Pretty happy how this came out! Though I didn't clean the print well enough before curing, hence the slight chalkiness.
Example miniature subscription order
This is how I package my orders! There are 4 minis in there.I wrap the bubble wrap around the miniature right above the base. So when you get the package, you can just pull the bubble wrap straight off without having to peel off the tape.I put them in little plastic bags so they don't flop around in the box and potentially chip.Also, I'm a sucker for cute washi tape. This will be released Jan 1st. I made the sword by subtracting meshes using dynamesh. I recommend it! It is one of the best ways to get clean lines.

This guy still needs a lot more attention. So far, pretty pleased.*How to sculpt shoes*So I used to think hands were the absolutely worst thing to sculpt. Turns out, it is shoes. I hate shoes. I flattened a cube for the bottom, and added a tapered cylinder to the top. After dynameshing them together I started to define the shape more.
