I did this about a year ago.as you can see i blurred the sided and stuff afterwardsIt is good to get to a certain point with the actual PSDthen after finish with a Jpg or png and paint over itDepends on what you will do though if you needto go behind the character you should do beforesaving it to single layer file.To Get the orange effect you use Overlay with orange colorthis around the face etc with an opaque water color brush.
