Empires Fanart: Variety Pack
Some general fan art that was published in the pages pf Yarf! I was surprised at how many people liked the story and sent in their own fan stuff. Above was an inking test with Bryce Nakagawa.A great symbolic piece by Dave Bryant. Dave's work was always top notch IMO. Empires Fan Art: Morrigan a Favorite
Captain (Later Major) Morrigan in the comic was a favorite character, not just in the story but as a foil for others' fan art. She was a pretty evil bitch, but had a sort of code that she followed at the same time. Before BOHICA: A Long, Long Time Ago....
I thought this layout was pretty clever; incorporating a panel break (a "gutter") and making this a two-panel comic while in truth it is all one picture but with two different dialogue events happening in it. Back when I was doing Empires for Yarf, I would draw the pages by pencil and then send them to another artist for "inking". This was the way it was done in the Old Times. The artist would apply ink to my lines, often bringing their own style to the pages in the process (which I enjoyed). Finished Product: "21 & 42"
This is the finished product of "21 & 42", the art piece I did for the benefit auction. It raised $45.00. The numbers 21 and 42 refer to the wolves, radio collar tags #21M for the male, and #42F for the female. These were wolves released into Yellowstone National Park in 1996 as part of the recovery and reintroduction effort.Laser prints are available for $20.00 apiece for anyone that wants them; I hope to use the proceeds to help fund a graphic novel about the wolf reintroduction story ...
